Myoporum parvifolium ‘Putah Creek’
A selected low-spreading evergreen ground cover prized for its dense, flat, even growth at 3 to 6 inches tall and a spread of 6 feet or more, rooting along the stems to form a tight, uniform mat. It is well suited to California landscapes, becoming drought tolerant once established and thriving in full sun with low water in well-drained soils. The bright green, narrow succulent-like leaves create a clean carpet accented in spring and summer by small white star-shaped flowers that attract bees. Use it for slope cover and erosion control, parking strips, large-scale and commercial plantings, and as a refined, low-maintenance alternative to lawn in sunny, water-wise designs.
