Pelargonium peltatum
A trailing evergreen perennial with cascading stems reaching 2 to 3 feet, bearing glossy, ivy-shaped fleshy foliage and bold clusters of single to semi-double flowers in a vivid red. It thrives in full sun to light afternoon shade with moderate water and good drainage, blooming heavily through spring and summer and tolerating coastal exposure well. The vigorous trailing form is built for draping and spilling. Use it as a high-impact flowering groundcover on sunny slopes, cascading over walls and raised planters, and for strong red color in borders and parking strips.
