Thymus serpyllum ‘Golden’
A spreading creeping thyme reaching 2 to 4 inches tall and spreading 12 to 18 inches, valued for its bright golden-yellow to chartreuse aromatic foliage that holds best in full sun. It requires good drainage and is drought tolerant once established, needing only low to moderate water. Small pink to lavender flowers appear in summer, though the luminous gold foliage is the main season-long interest. Ideal for adding color contrast between pavers and stepping stones, brightening border fronts and rock gardens, edging parking strips, and serving as a low ground cover in sunny, well-drained sites.
