Elfin Thyme

Thymus serpyllum ‘Elfin’

Elfin thyme is one of the most compact creeping thymes, forming an extremely dense, slow-growing cushion only about 1 inch high and spreading 4 to 6 inches wide, with tiny aromatic deep green leaves. It produces small pink to lavender flowers in summer that attract bees. This cultivar requires full sun and excellent drainage, is very drought tolerant once established, and withstands light foot traffic. It is ideal for tight crevices, between flagstones and pavers, in rock gardens and miniature plantings, and as a tidy groundcover for small low-water areas.
