Heuchera micrantha ‘Purple Palace’
Grown chiefly for its foliage, this clump-forming evergreen perennial forms mounds of deeply lobed, maple-like leaves in rich burgundy purple that hold color through the season, reaching about 12 to 18 inches tall in bloom. In late spring and summer it lifts slender stems of tiny creamy white flowers above the dark leaves, adding contrast and drawing pollinators. Plant in part shade to filtered sun with moist, well-drained, organically rich soil and regular water; deeper color develops with some sun in cooler exposures. Use it as a foliage accent in shade borders, woodland plantings, mixed containers, and front-of-bed groupings.
