Rhus integrifolia
Lemonade berry is an evergreen shrub to small tree, growing roughly eight to fifteen feet tall and wide, with rounded, leathery dark green leaves. It is well adapted to coastal conditions, tolerating salt spray, full sun, and part shade, and it is very drought tolerant once established. Small pink to white flowers appear in winter and early spring, followed by tart reddish fruit that supports birds and wildlife. It works well as a coastal screen, hedge, slope cover, and erosion control plant, and it can be sheared for a denser form.
