Herniaria glabra
A tight, prostrate evergreen ground cover that hugs the ground at only 1 to 3 inches tall while spreading slowly into a dense green carpet of tiny leaves. It grows in full sun to part shade and is drought tolerant once established, preferring well-drained soil with moderate to occasional water. The bright green foliage takes on bronze to reddish tints in cold weather, and the small greenish flowers are inconspicuous. A durable, light-foot-traffic steppable that excels between pavers and flagstone, in rock gardens, along path edges, and as a fine textured filler in tight spaces.
