Hedera canariensis ‘Algerian’
A vigorous evergreen ivy with large, glossy, dark green leaves that trails and climbs, spreading several feet per plant and rooting along the stems as it runs. It performs in full sun to deep shade and prefers regular water once established, holding up well in coastal and inland Ventura County conditions. Foliage is the main interest; this is a dense, fast-knitting selection that excels as a large-scale bank and slope cover, for erosion control, and in shaded areas where a tough, broad-leaved evergreen carpet is needed.
