Osteospermum hybrids (mixed)
A mounding to trailing evergreen perennial reaching 12 to 18 inches tall and spreading 18 to 24 inches, grown for its profuse daisy-form flowers in an assorted range of colors including white, purple, lavender, pink, and orange tones. It thrives in full sun with low to moderate water once established and blooms most heavily through the cool season into spring, slowing in summer heat. Foliage is gray-green and somewhat aromatic, and the plant takes coastal conditions well. Use it for mass color in beds and borders, on sunny slopes, in parking strips, and as a fast-filling groundcover for erosion-prone banks.
