Gazania ‘Aztec Yellow’
A compact, clumping evergreen perennial reaching roughly 6 to 10 inches tall with a 12 to 18 inch spread and silvery green, strap-like leaves. It demands full sun and asks for little water once established, shrugging off heat, drought, and poor soils typical of inland and coastal sites. This cultivar produces bright clear yellow daisy flowers that open by day and close at dusk, blooming heavily through the warm season. Plant it in sweeps on slopes, along sunny borders and walkways, in parking strips, or as a low groundcover for erosion control and hot, dry exposures.
