Vinca major
A vigorous trailing evergreen ground cover reaching 6 to 12 inches tall and spreading widely by rooting, arching stems. It thrives in part shade to full shade and tolerates sun in cooler exposures, accepting low to moderate water once established. Glossy dark green leaves provide year-round cover, accented in spring by lavender-blue, five-petaled flowers. A reliable choice for erosion control on shaded slopes and banks, mass plantings under trees, and quick coverage of large bare areas where its spreading habit is an asset.
