Matricaria chamomilla
A soft, finely textured annual that grows in a loose, branching mound 8 to 24 inches tall, with feathery, ferny aromatic foliage. It thrives in full sun and prefers moderate, even moisture in well-drained soil, reseeding readily once established. Through late spring and summer it produces abundant small daisy flowers with white rays and raised golden-yellow centers, releasing a sweet apple-like fragrance. Use it for cottage-style borders, herb plantings, pollinator and meadow mixes, and as a fragrant filler where its self-sowing habit fills gaps season to season.
