Gazania ‘Copper King’
A mat-forming evergreen perennial growing roughly 6 to 10 inches tall and spreading 12 to 18 inches, with silvery green strap-shaped leaves. It thrives in full sun on low to moderate water and handles heat, drought, and lean, fast-draining soils without complaint. This selection bears large daisy flowers in warm coppery orange to bronze tones that open by day and close at night through the warm season. It works well in slope plantings, sunny borders, median and parking strips, and erosion control, or as a rugged low-water groundcover in full-sun sites.
