Veronica repens
A very low, fast knitting evergreen ground cover that hugs the ground at 1 to 2 inches tall and spreads steadily by creeping, rooting stems. It grows in full sun to partial shade with regular, moderate water and prefers cool, moist, well drained soil. Tiny bright green leaves form a mossy mat studded with small pale blue to white flowers in spring. Use it as a fine textured lawn substitute for light foot traffic, between stepping stones and pavers, in rock gardens, and as a soft filler edging paths and borders.
