Sedum spurium ‘Dragon’s Blood’
A vigorous mat-forming stonecrop with rounded, scalloped foliage that emerges green and deepens to bronze-red and burgundy, intensifying in full sun and cool weather; it spreads 12 to 18 inches wide and stays 3 to 6 inches tall. It needs full sun to part shade, fast drainage, and only occasional water once established, tolerating heat, drought, and foot-edge conditions. Deep rose-red star-shaped flowers cover the mat in summer. Ideal as a lawn substitute, between pavers and stepping stones, on slopes for erosion control, and in borders, rock gardens, and parking strips.
