Hedera helix ‘English’
A vigorous evergreen ground cover and climbing vine that roots as it runs to form a dense mat 6 to 8 inches tall, spreading indefinitely and climbing readily by aerial rootlets where support is present. It grows in part shade to full shade and tolerates a wide range of soils, needing moderate water and establishing into a tough, self-sustaining cover. The lobed, dark green leaves provide year-round structure and an even, uniform texture. A classic choice for shaded slopes and erosion control, large area cover under trees, and as a screening vine on walls and fences where its spread can be managed.
