Island bush snapdragon is a Channel Islands native, evergreen, mounding to sprawling shrub reaching about 3 to 6 feet tall and wide, with soft green foliage on arching stems. It performs in full sun to light shade and is drought tolerant once established, tolerating coastal conditions well. Tubular bright red flowers appear over a long season, often nearly year-round in mild climates, and are a strong magnet for hummingbirds. Use it for slopes, retaining walls and raised beds where stems can cascade, as a habitat plant, or as a flowering filler in low-water coastal landscapes.
