Festuca ovina
A fine-textured, clumping ornamental grass that forms dense tufts roughly 6 to 12 inches tall and wide, with soft, thread-like green to gray-green blades. Airy flower spikes appear above the foliage in late spring and summer. It favors full sun and well-drained soil and is drought tolerant once established. Useful as a durable edging, massed as a soft textural ground cover, repeated along borders and parking strips, and combined with other low-water grasses and perennials.
