Pelargonium peltatum
A trailing evergreen perennial with cascading stems reaching 2 to 3 feet, clothed in glossy, fleshy, ivy-shaped leaves and topped through the warm season with clusters of single to semi-double flowers in a soft lavender shade. It performs best in full sun to light afternoon shade with moderate water and good drainage, blooming most heavily in spring and summer. The trailing habit makes it ideal for spilling over walls, slopes, and raised planters. Use it as a flowering groundcover on sunny banks, for cascading color along retaining walls and parking strips, and in mass plantings where season-long bloom is wanted.
