Lampranthus productus
One of the longest-blooming trailing ice plants, this evergreen succulent forms a low mounding mat about 12 to 15 inches tall and spreading 18 to 36 inches wide, with blue green to gray green fleshy foliage that often takes on bronze tints in cold weather. It thrives in full sun with sharp drainage and low water, tolerating heat, drought, and coastal conditions. From late fall into spring it produces a long, profuse display of bright purple daisy-like flowers held above the foliage. A workhorse ground cover for slopes, erosion control, parking strips, embankments, and water-wise borders.
