Lampranthus spectabilis ‘Red’
A drought-tolerant trailing succulent that builds a dense evergreen mat 12 to 18 inches tall and 18 to 24 inches wide, with fleshy gray green foliage. Plant in full sun with sharp drainage and low water; it tolerates heat, wind, salt, and poor soils once established. In late winter and spring it carries an abundant display of glowing red daisy-like flowers that open with the sun. A reliable performer for slopes, embankments, erosion control, parking strips, and hot, dry borders needing vivid color.
