Drosanthemum floribundum ‘Rosea’
This vigorous trailing iceplant reaches 6 to 12 inches in height and spreads several feet, forming a tight carpet of fine, glistening succulent foliage that cascades naturally down slopes and walls. Each spring it is smothered in shimmering, daisy-like flowers in a rosy pink to purple, creating a sheet of color that all but conceals the leaves. Plant it in full sun with sharp drainage; once established it is exceptionally drought tolerant and well suited to erosion control on banks and freeway slopes, parking strips, and spilling over retaining walls and raised beds.
