Rosmarinus officinalis
The prostrate, trailing form of rosemary, a woody evergreen growing about 1 to 2 feet tall while spreading 4 to 8 feet, with dense, needle-like aromatic green foliage. It demands full sun and well-drained soil and is strongly drought tolerant once established, thriving in heat and coastal exposure. Small pale blue flowers appear along the stems in cooler months, attracting bees and other pollinators. It is a workhorse for cascading over walls and slopes, bank stabilization, parking islands, and low-water and fire-wise plantings.
