Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)

Rosemary

Rosmarinus officinalis

An evergreen Mediterranean shrub with aromatic needle-like gray-green foliage; upright forms reach three to five feet tall and wide, while trailing selections cascade and spread several feet at lower height. It demands full sun and fast-draining soil, is highly drought tolerant once established, and resents wet feet. Clusters of small blue to violet-blue flowers appear from winter into spring and attract pollinators. Use upright forms for low hedges, screens, and water-wise borders, and trailing forms for slopes, retaining walls, raised planters, and erosion control.
