Silver Thyme (Thymus serpyllum 'Silver')

Silver Thyme

Thymus serpyllum ‘Silver’

A low creeping thyme forming an aromatic mat 2 to 4 inches tall and spreading 12 to 18 inches, distinguished by small green leaves edged in creamy silver-white variegation that brightens the planting. It grows best in full sun with excellent drainage and is drought tolerant once established, needing only low to moderate water. Soft pink to lavender flowers appear in summer above the variegated foliage, which is the primary ornamental draw. Use it to add light contrast between pavers and flagstones, along border edges, in rock gardens, and as a textured ground cover in low-traffic areas.
