Hypericum
An evergreen to semi-evergreen shrubby groundcover, with the common landscape forms reaching roughly 1 to 3 feet tall and spreading by rhizomes to form broad colonies. It grows in full sun to part shade, accepts a range of soils, and needs only moderate water once established, performing well on slopes and in mass plantings. Bright golden-yellow flowers with prominent showy stamens appear through summer above clean blue-green foliage. Use it for bank and slope cover, large-scale facing and filler, and informal borders where a dense, spreading evergreen mass is wanted.
