Twin Peaks Coyote Brush (Baccharis pilularis 'Twin Peaks')

Twin Peaks Coyote Brush

Baccharis pilularis ‘Twin Peaks’

A dense, prostrate male selection of the California native coyote brush, growing low at roughly 8 to 24 inches tall and spreading 6 to 8 feet or more to form an even, weed-suppressing carpet. Its small, finely textured deep green leaves stay evergreen, and once established it is highly drought tolerant in full sun, shrugging off heat, wind, salt, and poor soils. Flowers are minor and the plant is grown chiefly for its uniform, sprawling foliage cover, with the male clone avoiding the messy seed fluff of seedlings. A workhorse for slope stabilization, erosion control, large bank and freeway plantings, and broad low-water ground cover where reliable coverage is needed.
