Vinca minor ‘Alba’
A white-flowered form of common periwinkle that forms the same dense, fine-textured evergreen mat 3 to 6 inches tall, spreading by trailing, rooting stems to 18 inches or more. It favors part to full shade and moderate water and tolerates a range of soils once established. Glossy dark green leaves are accented in spring by clean white, five-petaled flowers, with occasional rebloom. A graceful lawn substitute and weed-suppressing carpet for shaded slopes, parkways, borders, and underplanting beneath trees where a softer white bloom is wanted.
