Ceanothus thyrsiflorus var. horizontalis ‘Yankee Point’
‘Yankee Point’ is a vigorous, low-spreading evergreen ceanothus selection that grows roughly 2 to 3 feet tall and spreads 8 to 12 feet wide, forming a dense mat of small, glossy dark green leaves. It performs in full sun to light shade, is drought tolerant once established, and is among the more adaptable ceanothus for garden conditions and coastal exposure. Clusters of medium blue flowers cover the plant in spring, attracting bees and other pollinators. Use it as a large-scale groundcover, on slopes and banks for erosion control, cascading over walls, and in low-water and habitat plantings.
